North East Claremont Development Guidelines

The Royal Agricultural Society (RAS) has hosted the Perth Royal Show at the Claremont Showgrounds for 100 years.  In efforts to offset the rising costs of maintaining its Claremont location, the RAS is considering options for more consistent use of the grounds, such as relocation of the adjacent Claremont Football Club which will make the present site of the football oval available for development.  The area also includes other significant development sites which collectively present an unusual opportunity for a higher density, mixed use activity node centred around the Claremont rail station.

In preparation for anticipated development proposals, the UDC was engaged to work with the Town Council and residents of Claremont to prepare a community vision for the future of the area, with guidelines to assist developers to respond appropriately to the community’s desires and expectations.
