The four qualifications of the Urban Design Graduate Program are:
The Graduate Certificate in Urban Design is for students who have completed, or who are in the final year of completing, a degree in a related discipline. This program is intended for those who wish to continue to pursue their current chosen profession but with a greater understanding of urban design issues.
The Graduate Diploma in Urban Design is for graduates and professionals who wish to bring a greater depth of understanding and skill in urban design to their professional work. Qualifications and experience in a design, planning or related area are furthered with an urban design focus, while option units are chosen to complement the student's undergraduate discipline.
The Master of Urban Design (by coursework) is for those who wish to practice as an urban designer. This program will enable you to focus your professional design contribution on the quality and development of cities and urban places. The core of the program is the design studio and students complete the degree with a design thesis, in which they pursue a largely self-directed urban design proposition of their choice in greater depth.
The Master of Urban Design (by research) is for those students who wish to pursue a career in teaching and research, or who want to pursue a particular urban design idea through research, looking for a way to test a theory on how to improve the quality of cities and urban places.
