Diana
was
the
State
Member
of Parliament
for
Perth
from
1993
to 2001,
serving
as Opposition
Whip
and
spokesperson
for
Multicultural
and
Ethnic
Affairs,
Racing
and
Gaming,
Women's
Interests
and
the
Arts.
Before
entering
politics,
she
was
a journalist,
current
affairs
commentator
and
activist
for
women
and
minority
groups,
earning
recognition
as Australian
Humanist
of the
Year
in 1999.
Diana
currently
serves
on the
Boards
or Committees
of numerous
organisations
including
the
West
Australian
Ballet,
the
WA Academy
of Performing
Arts,
CityVision,
the
Hole
in the
Wall
Theatre
and
the
WA Association
of Mental
Health.
She
is President
of the
Alliance
Francaise
de Perth
and
in July
2007
was
honoured
by France
as a
Knight
of the
Order
of the
Legion
of Honour.
