Doug McEachern
Professor
Doug McEachern
is Deputy
Vice-Chancellor
(Research
and Innovation)
at the
University
of Western
Australia
and has
responsibility
for research
policy
development
and general
overseeing
of the
University's
research
activities,
postgraduate
education,
industry
liaison,
intellectual
property
and commercialisation.
Prior
to his
appointment
with UWA,
Doug was
the Executive
Director
for Social,
Behavioural
and Economic
Sciences
at the
Australian
Research
Council
(ARC)
from February
2001 to
October
2003.
He is
the immediate
past chair
of the
Humanities
and Social
Sciences
discipline
panel
of the
Australian
Research
Council,
and member
of the
ARC’s
Research
Training
and Careers
Committee.
Professor
McEachern
was Head
of the
Department
of Politics
at the
University
of Adelaide.
He is
also a
former
Deputy
Vice-Chancellor
at the
University
of Adelaide,
and has
been a
Senior
Visiting
Fellow
at the
Australian
National
University’s
Research
School
of Social
Sciences.
